It's A Nice Day For A White Wedding + Patterned Trousers.

-Trousers-Vintage,(Nicked from Grandmama), Blouse&Tooth Necklace-H&M, Belt-Zara, Shoes-Vintage.
-Nail Varnish-'Duck Egg' From M&S.
-Final Two-Via Weheartit.

Of course todays antics are revolving the Royal Wedding for most.
I thought I wouldn't watch it as much as I did really, but all the hype turned out lovely for both Will and Catherine.
The dress, which I realise most people will have seen/heard about now, was expertly designed by Sarah Burton for McQueen; and beautiful it was. And such a well kept secret. The delicate lace sleeves, layering, pleaty-frills at the back and the cut-out neckline reflect both Burton and McQueen down to a T. Yet the many features, straying away from being over the top, creating a simplistic, elegant and perfectly royal dress, accompanied with a beautifully detailed veil.

My 'royal day outfit,' on the other hand, strays about as far away from weddings as probably possible, although not intentionally so. I have no plans for todays day, except continuing to smell my room out with turps due to oil painting.
My Grannie had left some clothes for me and mama to sift through last weekend, and I came across these trousers, which I actually really love, despite not having anything remotely similar in my wardrobe. So, perfect!
Not too sure about tonights antics, a few of my friends are actually in London on a school trip, or coming home today, (good luck there), after gallivanting around for a few days. A little jealous, needless to say; but that's whatcha get for leaving sixth form for college instead.

G'Day!

Overdue.

Some weird dance move?
- Blazer/Belt-Zara, Jumper Vest-Benetton/Thrifted, Skirt/Boots-UO, Sunnies/Tooth Necklace-H&M, Rings/Bracelets-Various, Key Bracelet-UO.

Messed around with some different settings/edits on my camera etcc.
Sorry I've been away from the blogging background for a wee while, seems longer than it actually has though me thinks.
This past few days + Easter weekend down le south/Essex with the family. The sun was out and it was pretty nice really.
The flower photos are actually some I took in my grandparents's garden, which I love, especially in summer.

Anyhoo, finally got around to buying some sunnies yesterday, although the weather seems a little less sunny, I will wear them indoors anyway. Maybe.
I took a little trip to Leeds yesterday, and came back with some lovely goodies, I shall prolly show sometime on here. Although I am particularly happy with a vintage floral playsuit I snapped up; although not really bright floral, more like white line drawings of daisys/flowers on the black material. It sounds a little strange, but I love it!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter, and I shall be much more up to date now:)

Talk Of Travel.

-Blouse-Thrifted, Skirt/Belt-Zara, Scarf-Vintage, Dream Catcher-H&M, Necklace/Bracelets-Gifted, Loafers-NewLook, Bag-Gifted/Next.
-Final Four-Via Weheartit.

Two weeks off college could not have come at a better time. My mad/crazy-ness had just about set in, although after the last few days last week of non-stop working/working lunches and long nights, I feel a million times better to have reached and ended a couple of deadlines.
I also have another interview for an art college, so fingers crossed!

To celebrate these long awaited holidays last Friday, me and Andy went to a couple of pubs and the like, then ended up meeting Joe and James and watching a local band. Turned out to be quite a lovely night, especially our talks of travel; hence the title of post.
I know I was saying this a few posts ago, but I would love to. A life-dream, or whatever they say?
Anyway, we were saying how good dropping everything and simply getting the train to London would be. Then ideas became bigger, dreaming of going to New York, and around the world.

This outfit is from the other day, before hop, skipped and jumped to Jess' for a lovely night of Chinese and chat with t'others. I love the simplicity of it, and is perfect for the amazing sunshine we've had the past few days.

Sorry for not posting a while, I have simply not neared my computer, although I think now my withdrawal symptoms from eBay are in overdrive; I keep finding too many nice things.

Anyways. I am absolutely looking forward to the rest of these holidays.
After hearing that it is meant to be a 'barbeque Easter,' I am anticipating to have at least one more.
Heading south/Essex bound for Easter weekend, for a good ol' big family gathering etc.
Also a good catch up with some friends, as it feels like forever since I have seen some.
Tomorrow we are hitting the road as they say, for our very first road trip.
Some sort of picnic-y/sun/day, but should be nicee.

Happy Holidays!

Dream Catchers & Too Many Rings.

You may or may not remember/have read, that I was utterly and completely on the hunt for a dream catcher style piece of jewellery. Apparently my jewellery collection can never be big enough.
And then I stumbled across this H&M one. Needless to say I snapped it up right away.
Then later the same evening, Laura gave me the blue one as a gift for my birthday.
Blue, being one of my favourite colours, and being a dream catcher equalled a double win/love.
It's good she knows me so well and reads this blog!

Anyway, I have the feeling both will be making several appearances in my outfits from now on, together or alone.

The shorts, on the other hand, are also a buy I had my eye on for a long while. So imagine my excitement when I found them on sale. Granted they are a size or so too big, they didn't have mine left; but I can tie the waist tight and embrace the paper-bag waist trend; you can't tell nearly as much. I love the colour and silky feel making them completely different to anything else I own.

I have a couple of rather large deadlines these next couple of days, so please forgive moi if I leave the face of the earth/blogging for a few days;

Lonely Holiday.

-Via FashionGoneRogue
- "Lonely Holiday - Julia spends a day of solitary roaming and exploration for the latest issue of Nuyou Singapore lensed be Wee Khim. Outfitted by Johnny Khoo, Julia dons a wardrobe of notable spring looks from labels such Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino.

I would absolutely love to travel. The world/Europe; cliche I know, but I would love to.

This shoot caught my eye wandering through the pages of Fashion Gone Rogue; there's something about the soft, dull colours of the images, the amazingly designed architecture creeping into the sides, teamed with the just lovely, beautiful styling. Softer and harsher lines of the clothes contrast rightfully with the scenery, varying when need be.
And to own any of those chiffon skirts, trousers or blouses.
To dream.

Hide Your Lovers Underneath The Covers.

I am now pretty sure I have SAD. Seasonal Affective Disorder.
It began as a joke, with Laura et al making fun; but after an absolutely gorgeous week/end, weather wise (I realise another Brit talking weather does get rather repetitive; but living in West Yorkshire, the exclamation should rightfully arise.)
I have been v.happy, despite the thought of looming deadlines and mountains of work etc. Although, I think to some extent everyone has SAD. Notably, moods are distinctly lower when miserable weather surrounds; and Saturday, while at work, I noticed the happy moods of everyone.
Dropping everything, reaching for the suncream and donning flip flops, for a trip to town to buy new sandals; the sun has everyone wrapped around it's little finger. And working in a shoe shop, the number of sandal/wedges/flip flops yesterday was astronomical.
The sun is an instant mood elevator!

Anyway; we had our first barbecue of the year on Friday; including driving up to Tesco after college, buying meat, bread and cider. And the barbie actually worked; a revelation in comparison to past years.
Yesterday we going to Andy's as it's his birthday today. A gathering of some lovely people, the outdoors and his kitchen that had turned into "an all you can eat buffet" was fun.

The outfit above is from today, a morning of college and now an afternoon/evening of some more Arcade Fire, English essays, paintings, dress making and a singing lesson.

Happy days to all:)

Don't Go That Way; I'll Wait For You.

-Blazer-Zara, Dress-American Apparel, Bag-Gifted/Dotty P's, Tassle Loafers-NewLook, Key Necklace-Gifted, Dagger earring-UO, Scarf-Vintage.

Just a quick outfit post today;
I love this forest green colour at the moment, or really just green in general, sightly unusual for me?
I snapped up these loafer-y shoes the other day on a quick trip to town with mama, and after looking for some for a very long time, was pretty delighted to find these!
The necklace was a gift for my birthday, and I love eet, along with the earrings I bought on our Leeds trip the other day. They're pretty much just old metal, or look this way; but I love the 'non-perfect' kind of look for jewellery.

My day has been spent painting, pretty much all day; and also a highlight, driving along singing along to the new Strokes album in the sun. I think I'm addicted. Also convincing my friend of their greatness, who doesn't share the same addiction, that the album/they are in fact a great thing.
