Oh Jackie, You're So Fine.

Via Weheartit & ASOS Magazine.

Icon from the 60's, Jackie Kennedy Onassis set a high mark in the style stakes, her style, elegance and grace something that continues to be an aim of women today.
"Her famous pink Chanel suit became a symbol of her husbands assassination and a lasting image of the 1960's."

After finding an article of her iconic fashion choices and history repeating itself, or once again becoming 'on trend' it became an inspiration for a recurring theme of a montage project at college. The shape of her glasses was something that repeated in each piece I produced. (I will get around to scanning them on the computer).

Colourful Contradictions.

Via weheartit & Sunset photo, myself.

Feeling pretty colourful today, which totally contradicts my charcoal grey wool dress and grey blazer combination. I guess in the early hours, colours aren't the first thing on ones mind, when all I can think of is caffeine or bed.
Longing for a holiday maybe.
But, on Tuesday I'm heading to Cardiff for another interview; nervous yes, but excited to see somewhere new.

The first photo is pretty cool, I love interior decorating, and cannot wait to let loose on my own house one day. I've lost count of the number of times I've redecorated my room, but I get bored pretty easily of the same surroundings.
Maybe this is why I like travel so much?

The Curve Of Forgotten Things.

Researching all things Rodarte for a small project, I came across this short film entitled The Curve Of Forgotten Things, starring Elle Fanning and featuring the Spring 2011 collection.
The sisters which make up Rodarte, I find are a constant inspiration with their amazing designs and creations.
In my opinion, this film sums up perfectly the ethereal world they create with their garments, always an exciting, intriguing step away from the world we live in.

In The Midst.

The old becoming new. Louis Vuitton AW10.
Midi length dress-Topshop, Cropped Jumper-Thrifted, Tights-Primark, Shoes-Next, Dreamcatcher-H&M.

After the excitement of the midi skirt returning to the catwalk in 2010, a key collection being that of Louis Vuitton, longer length skirts have elbowed their way through the minis and maxis, to once again and continue to, claim space on our wish lists.
Although I was not a fan of this particular hemline at the time, it has quite literally, grown on me and now, I find myself purchasing more and more of this style.
Described as elegant and feminine, yet sexy and sophisticated, this easy to wear shape quickly became a must for our favourite style icons, from on the red carpet, to informal events.
The midi is set to stand its ground this summer, with more options cropping up all over the highstreet, some even with new twists. The one on my wish list, a lightweight, chiffony number with a dipped hem at the back. Now just to find the right one.
Tried & tested - roll over the waistline of a maxi skirt until reached required hemline, and add a belt!

Slip back out of whack.

via weheartit & google.

It's fair to say it's been a while.
But, sabbatical over. I've realised how much I love this other world of inspiration, fashion and opinions that is of blogs.
So, a fresh start?
Through my compulsive list making, im planning a new look, writing; I never thought this would happen, but I miss studying English! Photography and art work, along with inspirations, and fashion. A sort of fashion/lifestyle blog.
A little of the same as before, a little new maybe.

For now, back to research with multiple cups of coffee to help.

Dreamy Haze.

These images, created by artist Pakayla Biehn cropped up on the Topshop facebook page a few weeks ago.
I love the style, the dreamy, whimsical feel to these pieces, making them unique to anything else. The romantic edge adds to the appeal, along with the "intricate detailing and dream-like double exposure."
And, the interesting, amazing fact - they are actually paintings, not photography.

"There's something wistful about their composition; something fleeting that makes you want to capture them in your mind's eye. There seems to be a half remembered story behind each one."

Definitely an artist I would love to investigate further, truly amazing, with an unusual, dreamy edge.

Foolishness & Heartlessness.

-Shirt-Vintage, Shorts-RI, Bag-Vintage, Necklace-H&M, Bracelets-Gifted, Shoes-Vintage.
-Rings- Vintage, Gifted, Next.
-Nail Varnish- 'Raisin' by Elf.

Realise it's been another week, not much use at keeping up at the moment apparently; ahh well!
I shall do soon, (she keeps saying.)

Anyhoo, it's been a busy weekend, and I think I'm realising it now I'm sat at home with noting much to do, except learn the art of wallpapering. That's going to be interesting?

Friday night me and the usuals went to a gig in Leeds, a friends band was playing, along with a couple of others. Was a good night, also involving cocktails, which are always good.
I wore this outfit, and the shorts are new! I love them, and after eventually buying them online since my size sold out in my local shop, and them mistakenly sending me two pairs, and taking double the amount out of my account, it's something. I have now sent the other pair back.
But anyway.
I'm not normally one to buy from River Island, they aren't always my cup of tea; yet in the past few months I have acquired these shorts, a top and an amazing blazer. I'm sure it will crop up on here sometime soon...
