Dreamy Haze.

These images, created by artist Pakayla Biehn cropped up on the Topshop facebook page a few weeks ago.
I love the style, the dreamy, whimsical feel to these pieces, making them unique to anything else. The romantic edge adds to the appeal, along with the "intricate detailing and dream-like double exposure."
And, the interesting, amazing fact - they are actually paintings, not photography.

"There's something wistful about their composition; something fleeting that makes you want to capture them in your mind's eye. There seems to be a half remembered story behind each one."

Definitely an artist I would love to investigate further, truly amazing, with an unusual, dreamy edge.

Foolishness & Heartlessness.

-Shirt-Vintage, Shorts-RI, Bag-Vintage, Necklace-H&M, Bracelets-Gifted, Shoes-Vintage.
-Rings- Vintage, Gifted, Next.
-Nail Varnish- 'Raisin' by Elf.

Realise it's been another week, not much use at keeping up at the moment apparently; ahh well!
I shall do soon, (she keeps saying.)

Anyhoo, it's been a busy weekend, and I think I'm realising it now I'm sat at home with noting much to do, except learn the art of wallpapering. That's going to be interesting?

Friday night me and the usuals went to a gig in Leeds, a friends band was playing, along with a couple of others. Was a good night, also involving cocktails, which are always good.
I wore this outfit, and the shorts are new! I love them, and after eventually buying them online since my size sold out in my local shop, and them mistakenly sending me two pairs, and taking double the amount out of my account, it's something. I have now sent the other pair back.
But anyway.
I'm not normally one to buy from River Island, they aren't always my cup of tea; yet in the past few months I have acquired these shorts, a top and an amazing blazer. I'm sure it will crop up on here sometime soon...

Sheer Stuff.

-Sheer Maxi-Ark, Top(Underneath)-H&M, Shirt-Thrifted, Shoes-Dotty P's, Belt-Zara.

Realise I'm being pretty useless at the moment, but heyho, I shan't bore ya's with random excuses and illnesses!

I actually wore this outfit for work the other day, when it was actually somewhat sunny compared to now. Although taking a photo was pretty awkward. When the sun shone, showing the sheer-ness of the skirt better, the wind blew. Hence some funny looks etc:)

Hope everyone's good and all, I am steadily catching up on posts!
Have a few plans in the near future so hopefully some more interesting posts/outfits to come!

Slip Back Out Of Whack.

-Skirt & Top-Zara, Belt & Bag-Vintage, Shoes-Dotty P's, Jewellery-Various.
-Spotty Dress-Vintage, Hat-Someone else's..?

Currently sat with a towel clutched around my shoulders and about 2 minutes before I have to go wash the dye off my hair. Not sure how different it will look, but we shall see!?

Anyhoo, sorry I haven't been around for agers, or so it seems, but catching up with friends/tidying/shopping/writing a new CV and job hunting seemed to have whisked away any free time. Not that I'm complaining, especially now the sun's out!

Today consisted of a wander into town to pick up some birthday presents and what not, whilst on the hunt for the prefect shorts I saw a few weeks ago. Except now they no longer have them in my size.. I may take a trip somewhere else to search, they are just too nice!

My friend recently found the last two photos on a camera, taken last year at Leeds Festival. Just looking at them, and I cannot wait for this year! The Strokes!
Cannot wait to see them.

Pleats & Paintings.

1&2-Top-RI, Skirt-Asos, Belt-Next, Necklace-H&M, Rings-Next/Dotty P's, Boots-UO.
3- A few paintings,
4&5- The beginning of my first dress,
6, 7 & 8, more paintings/art work.

Back!
I am finally finished with my art & textiles Alevels, and there is no more I can do; believe me, I have fit in a lot of time these past few weeks. Waking up early(unheard of for me), and staying up all through the night.
So; I have spent this past week sleeping really. And that's about it.
Plus meeting friends/dancing the night away, as ya doo, etcc.

I realise I haven't blogged in what seems like forever, but I am so looking forward to catching up.

Anyhoo, this is my outfit from today, a trip to an English lesson, and a chat with some friends.
The other photos are a few snaps of some of my work in the past couple of projects. As you can see, my shoe obsession carried over into my art work, answering the question of 'Collections of Everyday Objects.'
There is more, and one piece I was completely proud of; I am a complete perfectionist when it comes to art work; but I couldn't take a photo of it as: I ran out of time, and it was my timed exam piece.
But the exhibition is soon, soo.

Anyway, more to come soon; and I have many a plan to steal away my time from now, so look out!
For now,
Happy days:)

Never Underestimate Simplicity.

-Jacket/Blouse-Thrifted, Jeans-Primark, Black Patent Belt-New Look, Bag-Asos, Dreamcatcher-H&M, Shoes/Scarf-Vintage.
Other-Weheartit.

Just a little quick post, and a simple outfit.
I actually really like the simplicity and neutral colours of it. Plus a touch of burgundy-ish, continuing the colour pops and that.

Anyway, today was my interview for art college, and I got in!
I have actual life plans for next year now, and looking around, I really liked it.
So, so happy, hence the random photo of daisys, flowers are happy? Or something..

Anyhoo, for now G'day!

Darkness Is A Harsh Term, Don't You Think.

Via -Weheartit & Fashiongonerogue.

Sorry for the long string of images, but they're just a few I have collated over time, and I haven't really had any chance to snap away myself. I rather like these too.
As predicted this week has been maad, working every night until early hours then up again the next day for college, oh the fun.

Anyhoo, not much longer, then I shall be back and full of jolly ideas, I hope. Or just asleep for the next few weeks solid; either or.
Last night was one of my good friends birthday party, which was actually really good, and a chance to see several people again, venture into town after, drink a little too much and arrive home at some early hour, only to be woken by my alarm again to go to work. But it's actually been a good day. Town was quiet, so I drank far too much black coffee, as we had no milk and got some much needed magazine reading in. Quite nice.

I'm counting down until freedom now, just exam week; but for now and this moment, I shall continue to crazily sing along to The Vaccines a little loud and make a wire structure for my next piece.
I may post some photos of work sometime soon, if anyone's interested, although someone had mentioned it before too.

Also I have an interview tomorrow, wish me luck.

Mustard-Marigold + Berry.

-Jacket-Thrifted/Muvvers, Jumper-Thrifted, Skirt+Bag-Asos, Boots-RI, Belt/Scarf-Vintage.

Never thought I'd be one to embrace the whole 'colour-blocking' trend thing, but looking in the mirror to check my hair wasn't sticking up all over before I dashed out the door in my usual morning rush, I noticed this outfit kinda comes off this way. And, I kinda like it.
No doubt the bright colours instantly lift my moods into a much sunnier one, and matched with a plain black pleated skirt, mutes it down just enough.

Also, meet my new boots.
It is known to my friends that I somewhat  have a slight (big) shoe obsession. Imagine my glee when I landed a job in a shoe shop.
Anyway, not normally a fan of River Island, I though I'd check out the new shop in town. And then I saw these. My instant reaction was to try them, (obviously), and when they fit perfectly, I knew I had to have them. Granted it took a wee while to save up and justify enough to my bank balance; but it is well worth it.

Anyhoo, apologising in advance for the next couple of weeks, I have a huge feeling/knowing they are going to be mayhem and madness, my art and textiles exam weeks are next week, the prep in the run up and my 'forever deadlines' all at the same time.
But after that I will be near enough free.
I have so many plans it's untrue.

It's A Nice Day For A White Wedding + Patterned Trousers.

-Trousers-Vintage,(Nicked from Grandmama), Blouse&Tooth Necklace-H&M, Belt-Zara, Shoes-Vintage.
-Nail Varnish-'Duck Egg' From M&S.
-Final Two-Via Weheartit.

Of course todays antics are revolving the Royal Wedding for most.
I thought I wouldn't watch it as much as I did really, but all the hype turned out lovely for both Will and Catherine.
The dress, which I realise most people will have seen/heard about now, was expertly designed by Sarah Burton for McQueen; and beautiful it was. And such a well kept secret. The delicate lace sleeves, layering, pleaty-frills at the back and the cut-out neckline reflect both Burton and McQueen down to a T. Yet the many features, straying away from being over the top, creating a simplistic, elegant and perfectly royal dress, accompanied with a beautifully detailed veil.

My 'royal day outfit,' on the other hand, strays about as far away from weddings as probably possible, although not intentionally so. I have no plans for todays day, except continuing to smell my room out with turps due to oil painting.
My Grannie had left some clothes for me and mama to sift through last weekend, and I came across these trousers, which I actually really love, despite not having anything remotely similar in my wardrobe. So, perfect!
Not too sure about tonights antics, a few of my friends are actually in London on a school trip, or coming home today, (good luck there), after gallivanting around for a few days. A little jealous, needless to say; but that's whatcha get for leaving sixth form for college instead.

G'Day!

Overdue.

Some weird dance move?
- Blazer/Belt-Zara, Jumper Vest-Benetton/Thrifted, Skirt/Boots-UO, Sunnies/Tooth Necklace-H&M, Rings/Bracelets-Various, Key Bracelet-UO.

Messed around with some different settings/edits on my camera etcc.
Sorry I've been away from the blogging background for a wee while, seems longer than it actually has though me thinks.
This past few days + Easter weekend down le south/Essex with the family. The sun was out and it was pretty nice really.
The flower photos are actually some I took in my grandparents's garden, which I love, especially in summer.

Anyhoo, finally got around to buying some sunnies yesterday, although the weather seems a little less sunny, I will wear them indoors anyway. Maybe.
I took a little trip to Leeds yesterday, and came back with some lovely goodies, I shall prolly show sometime on here. Although I am particularly happy with a vintage floral playsuit I snapped up; although not really bright floral, more like white line drawings of daisys/flowers on the black material. It sounds a little strange, but I love it!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter, and I shall be much more up to date now:)
